School Bus Crash In Westchester Injures Two, Police Say

A school bus driver and one student received minor injuries during a crash of the minibus they were traveling in on I-87 in Westchester.

The crash took place around 1:53 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, on the Thruway near Ashford Avenue in Ardsley, said the New York State Police.

An initial investigation showed that the bus left the roadway,  jumped the guardrail and then rolled over off the roadway, state police said.

Both occupants were able to get out of the vehicle with minor injuries, state police added.  No other students were on the bus from the Union Free School District in Tarrytown.

The roadway was closed for a short time to allow for towing and emergency response but has since reopened to traffic.
